{"id":6871,"date":"2022-04-13T18:06:45","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T17:06:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/telecomkh.info\/?p=6871"},"modified":"2022-04-13T18:06:45","modified_gmt":"2022-04-13T17:06:45","slug":"fcc-expands-list-of-communications-equipment-and-services-that-pose-threat-to-national-security","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/telecomkh.info\/?p=6871","title":{"rendered":"FCC expands list of communications equipment and services that pose threat to national security"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Adds AO Kaspersky Lab, China Telecom (Americas) Corp, and China Mobile International USA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Federal Communications Commission\u2019s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau recently added equipment and services from three entities \u2013 AO Kaspersky Lab, China Telecom (Americas) Corp, and China Mobile International USA Inc. \u2013 to its list of communications equipment and services that have been deemed a threat to national security, consistent with requirements in the Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act of 2019.<br \/>\n\u201cLast year, for the first time, the FCC published a list of communications equipment and services that pose an unacceptable risk to national security, and we have been working closely with our national security partners to review and update this list,\u201d said Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel. \u201cToday\u2019s action is the latest in the FCC\u2019s ongoing efforts, as part of the greater whole-of-government approach, to strengthen America\u2019s communications networks against national security threats, including examining the foreign ownership of telecommunications companies providing service in the United States and revoking the authorization to operate where necessary. Our work in this area continues.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act requires the Commission to publish and maintain a list of communications equipment and services that pose an unacceptable risk to national security or the security and safety of U.S. persons.
