He was at the helm of CNCF for over five years and provided the guidance that led the project to become one of the most successful open source foundations of all time. Dan believed wholeheartedly that a diverse community made for a stronger and more vibrant and innovative community, and thanks to his leadership, CNCF has been able to offer over 1,518 scholarships to date.<br \/>\nThese scholarships have helped countless underrepresented individuals become valued members of #teamcloudnative. In fact, Dan was one of the first proponents of these scholarships, so it\u2019s only fitting that we honor his legacy by offering these scholarships in his name.<br \/>\nApplicants must be from traditionally underrepresented and\/or marginalized groups in the technology and\/or open source communities who are unable to attend without some financial assistance. Including, but not limited to persons identifying as: LGBTQIA+, women, persons of color, and\/or persons with disabilities.<br \/>\nDan\u2019s presence is felt everyday across the CNCF and open source communities.
